Itinerary
Arrive at Muscat International Airport, where our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. In the late afternoon, you will explore the scenic Muttrah Corniche, shop for traditional frankincense and silver at Muttrah Souq, and enjoy a photo stop at the official residence of the Sultan, Al Alam Palace.
After breakfast, you will drive along the coastal highway stopping at the Bimmah Sinkhole, a massive limestone crater with clear turquoise water. Continue to the palm-lined canyon of Wadi Shab for a scenic hike and swim. In the afternoon, proceed to the coastal town of Sur to visit the traditional Omani dhow boatyards.
Travel inland to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman's most famous oases featuring shaded palm groves and crystal-clear swimming pools. In the afternoon, you board a 4x4 vehicle into the vast golden dunes of Wahiba Sands. Experience sunset dune bashing and enjoy an evening of Omani music, dinner, and stargazing at a desert camp.
Depart the desert for Nizwa, the historic former capital of Oman. You explore Nizwa Fort and its lively traditional souk famous for Omani halwa and pottery. On the return drive to Muscat, stop at the mud-brick village ruins and date palm oasis of Birkat Al Mouz.
Begin your final morning with a guided visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest and most ornate mosques in the Middle East. Enjoy your free time for last-minute shopping before your private transfer organized by our agency back to Muscat International Airport for your departure flight.
