Itinerary

Depart Kathmandu early in the morning in a private jeep or bus heading north toward Rasuwa. Drive along winding mountain highways through Trishuli Bazar and Dunche to reach Syabrubesi, the starting point for trekking in the Langtang region. Check into your mountain lodge for dinner and rest.

Begin your trek following the Langtang Khola river through oak, bamboo, and rhododendron forests. Climb steadily uphill through bamboo groves along the riverbank, crossing suspension bridges before arriving at Lama Hotel by late afternoon to stay overnight in a cozy teahouse.

Continue walking uphill through dense forests as the valley opens up into broad alpine meadows. Pass through Ghodatabela where prayer wheels and mani walls appear along the path, arriving at the rebuilt settlement of Langtang Click to open side panel for more information surrounded by towering snow-covered peaks.

Enjoy a short scenic trek through yak pastures and stone-walled villages toward Kyanjin Gompa Click to open side panel for more information. Arrive by noon to explore the historic monastery, sample fresh yak cheese at the local cheese factory, and enjoy mountain views of Langtang Lirung.

Wake up early to hike up Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri for a panoramic sunrise view of the Langtang Himalayan range. After descending back to Kyanjin Gompa Click to open side panel for more information for breakfast, begin your return journey back down the valley to Lama Hotel for your overnight stay.

Follow the river trail down through bamboo and oak forests back to Syabrubesi. Take time to celebrate the completion of your trek with your team and rest at your lodge.

After breakfast in Syabrubesi, board your private vehicle for the drive back to Kathmandu, arriving in the capital by late afternoon.
