Itinerary

Your journey begins with a 50-minute domestic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj Airport. Upon arrival, board a private 4x4 Jeep for a scenic 2.5-hour drive through countryside villages to your eco-jungle lodge near Thakurdwara, the main gateway to Bardiya National Park. After checking in and enjoying lunch, take a guided evening walk through a local indigenous Tharu village to experience traditional clay homes and rural life before enjoying a welcome dinner.

After an early breakfast, set out on a full-day guided walking safari with expert nature naturalists deep inside Bardiya National Park. Track tiger prints, navigate tall elephant grass, and sit quietly at strategic watchtowers (Machans) near the Karnali and Babai riverbanks where wild tigers, rhinos, and herds of deer frequently come to drink water. Enjoy a packed jungle lunch in the forest and return to your lodge in the late afternoon for dinner.

Spend the morning on a 4x4 open-top jeep safari to cover deeper jungle territories and increase your chances of wildlife sightings. In the afternoon, take a peaceful float-rafting trip down the Karnali River, offering excellent opportunities to spot freshwater Gangetic dolphins, marsh mugger crocodiles, gharials, and migratory birds along the riverbanks. Conclude your evening with a vibrant live Tharu cultural dance performance at your lodge.

Start your final morning with a calm bird-watching walk along the forest edges, guided by a local naturalist to spot hornbills, kingfishers, and eagles. After breakfast at the lodge, board your vehicle for the drive back to Nepalgunj Airport and catch your return flight back to Kathmandu by afternoon.
